about

Omar V returns to the Freebooter Lounge with two reworks from Ed Mahon and Klark Bent, chilled out, cosmic, retro sounding, dubbed out nod to Sylvester’s I need somebody to love tonight, what more can you want.

Omar V (Ole Martin Smuk-Vilberg) is a DJ and producer from Oslo, Norway. His musical journey started in the late 70s when he fell in love with his dad's record collection. It was the sound of synthesizers that made the biggest impression.

At ten years old, he was making mixtapes at the local leisure club and all genres the 80s had to offer were included. At the age Of 16, his knowledge of music led to him landing his first job in one of Oslo's most important record stores at the time, working as head of dance music import.

The 90s were underway and so was his DJ career. With gigs around the world, releases on recognized labels and still a burning interest in making mixtapes, his musical range has only grown and the same can be said of his record collection.

Ed Mahon is a DJ and producer from the North of England with a strong house music background stretching back to the early 90s. Equally at home playing acid house chuggers, straight up house, Balearic beats and all sorts in between, he is a Festival regular, DJing all over the world, and an in-demand guest mixer.

Production-wise his recordings and remixes have seen releases on labels such as Tici Taci, Paper, Sprechen, Nein, Hot Digits, Emerald & Doreen, Higher Love, Eclectics, Quixotical, Red Ant and more.

Ed is also co-founder of Cowbell Radio, an acclaimed underground radio station since 2011 and is a key part of the Alfresco Festival. He hosts radio shows on Cowbell and Music For Dreams and has provided guest mixes for many shows and stations.

His DJ work has taken him from South Africa to Marseille to Croatia with multiple guest sets in Ibiza and Tenerife, as well as dozens of UK festivals, club nights and residencies.

Feargal Clarke aka 'Klark Bent' is a Belfast based musician, producer and DJ, who has been creating music from Kraut inspired Psych/Garage Rock to House and Techno for the last 18 years.

First mesmerised by the early Rave/Acid House/Techno tapes as a 10 year old boy, he has been mixing everything from Disco to House, Electronica and Breaks to Electro and Techno for 29 years.

After building Ram Ally Studio in 2012, recording and mixing countless artists and bands over a 5 year period, he co-founded the live Techno/House trio, 'Dead Spector', the name being a nod to the infamous music producer.

During that time, Feargal formed the Psych-Rock 3-piece 'Horse Tablet', playing underground events that borrowed the ethos of the underground party scene, allowing for long, droning versions of the bands recordings.

Next was a 5-piece experimental band called 'Igloo Tree' that played numerous improvised gigs and festivals and "anywhere that would accept our droning space-racket".
