The Freebooter Lounge welcomes the ‘D-Echo Project’ back to the camp this time with a 2 track EP and a couple of brilliant remixes by Freebooter regulars Muzka and Ed Mahon.

D-Echo project bring Eery and Coffee, both unique yet embellished with their laidback dub drenched sound, while both Ed and Muzka go for a more club friendly take for both reworks. 4 complimentary tracks in a great EP.

In 2010, the two friends Valter Silva and Rogério Coelho, both from Peniche in Portugal, decided to work together as D-Echo Project to create a fusion of styles from all over the world, from Dub, Funk, Jazz and Soul to Electronic and Dance...

Valter had his first musical experiences on local events in 1995 where his passion about percussion began. A few years later, he started to play percussion on jam sessions with local musicians. Rogério's passion for music production started in 2008 when he learned how to produce with a Digital Audio Workstation. After one year he had his first music experiences by playing in local psy parties. Their passion for deep slow sultry sounds and dub bass mean they put their soul into every piece of music they create.

Muzka has been DJing since the late 90s, spinning in clubs around Belfast and across the country. He prides himself on not being pigeonholed to one genre which can be heard in his productions, taking their influence from hip hop, electro, dub, house, disco, techno and everything in between. Muzka has released under a number of monikers such as Mu$kat, Sir Plus and as himself on Cut La Rocs ‘Roctstar Records’. These days you can catch him DJing at Ulster Sports Club, Belfast, making beats for local MCs and producing beautiful leftfield electronica.

Ed Mahon is a DJ and producer from the North of England with a strong house music background stretching back to the early 90s. Equally at home playing acid house chuggers, straight up house, Balearic beats and all sorts in between, he is a Festival regular, DJing all over the world, and an in-demand guest mixer.

Production-wise his recordings and remixes have seen releases on labels such as Tici Taci, Paper, Sprechen, Nein, Hot Digits, Emerald & Doreen, Higher Love, Eclectics, Quixotical, Red Ant and more.

Ed is also co-founder of Cowbell Radio, an acclaimed underground radio station since 2011 and is a key part of the Alfresco Festival. He hosts radio shows on Cowbell and Music For Dreams and has provided guest mixes for many shows and stations.

His DJ work has taken him from South Africa to Marseille to Croatia with multiple guest sets in Ibiza and Tenerife, as well as dozens of UK festivals, club nights and residencies.
